Spring Improv and Writing

New Show!

HELLO

I’m Katy Schutte. I write, improvise, perform and teach public and corporate workshops. I’m a folklorist-in-training and a witchy druid on the side.

Improv and Nature Retreat, Ostara

NEWS AND STUFF

The pic above is from my Improv and Nature retreat celebrating the spring in Devon. Get in touch if you want to join a future retreat. If you’re interested in the connection between nature and improv I’m running Improv and the Natural World in Suffolk next weekend. Come and join! There are just a couple of tickets left. Bonus! My dog is co-teaching.

I’m busy with Folklore assignments and teaching at the moment. Thanks for your help on my ghosts and hauntings survey! I went on a ghost hunt in Nottingham and didn’t get possessed or murdered. Phew.

I’ve been teaching improv, devising and writing at various American Universities in London, running classes and corporate sessions with Hoopla and doing 1:1s for careers in comedy and show-development. My Write Your Solo Show class has just started and the Mythic Improv Journey continues.

NEW SHOW

Hoopla is making in-house shows with some of our regular teachers directing and this is my one. I listed ten show ideas for Steve and together we picked out Man Band. It’s a musical show with gender-blind casting in which a ‘90s boy band gets together decades later for one last gig…

ON TOUR

I’m off to tour Ireland and Northern Ireland (and to save the world!) in May and June with We Built This City on Rock and Coal. Improv! Science! Fun!

IMPROV FESTIVALS

There are some other exciting festivals in the works too…

My play The Ice at the End of the World is inspired by my Arctic Residency and will be on at Omnibus Theatre for three weeks in September-October. I’ll share the details and ticket link soon. Exciting!

If you're interested in improv coaching, want help with a written show, or you'd like to join the waiting list for sold out courses, pop me an email at [email protected]

LET'S BE BUDDIES

Well done, everyone.
