News from Katy Schutte
Hi !
Last Chance to Get Involved!
My crowd-funder for The Arctic Circle Project is finishing in the next couple of days. If you’d like to contribute, this is a little nudge to do it now.
Thank you to the many of you that have contributed already! I’m thrilled to be 74% funded at the time of writing. I am incredibly grateful and humbled by your generosity and your interest in the project.

Wait, what is it?
I am going to the Arctic in April as an Artist in Residence with The Arctic Circle Project. I’ll be on a boat with scientists and artists in the high-Arctic Svalbard archipelago and the Arctic Ocean as inspiration for a new show!
I’m working with Omnibus Theatre Director, Marie McCarthy to create a piece of theatre around mental health, solastalgia, climate change and psychogeography.
There’s more info via the crowd-funder link above. Perks include a knit lottery where you can have me knit you something while I’m there, get access to my creative diaries or have me film a video for you.
Classes!
From January, throughout 2022:Mythic Improv Journey (online)
There are just three tickets left!
This is an improv get-together using longform improv to celebrate and mark the solar festivals of the year. It’s part lecture, where you learn about the festivals, a bit of solo and duo enquiry and then improv fun. There are no notes, it’s not an improv class, but more of a community thing where you get to play and learn a little about myths and ritual. Grab one of the last three tickets and join us for eight sessions throughout 2022.
Longform Experiment…
I like to teach a multi-day longform experimental class every year and there’s one standing-by on Eventbrite. I can’t publish the dates yet, as I’m waiting on confirmation for a few other projects that I need to work around. If you’re super interested in this, pop me an email and I’ll make sure you know immediately when it’s up. It’ll be a live class in London for experienced improvisers.
Podcast!
My episode of the excellent Canadian podcast, Limited Capacity, entitled ‘Slow Burn’ is now live. I really love it; have a listen.
Thanks for reading. Have a sit down and a cuppa, yeah?
