Katy Schutte: Improv, VR and Other News for January
News from Katy Schutte
Hi ,
Thanks for being here. It is okay to write back - I am a human.
Virtual Reality Improv Show!
The Galaxicle Implosions is an amazing show and I’m so grateful to be involved. It’s pretty much the dream I’ve had since I watched Red Dwarf as a child; creating and performing in a science fiction sitcom!
The Galaxicle Implosions is improvised in front of a live theatre audience with the cast in VR headsets. We create a live, virtual, animated show that is projected behind us with a hosted version streaming online. Audience can also join us live in our purpose-built VR world in Flipside.
What? Yes - I know it might be difficult to grasp!
We are doing a work-in-progress season run of five episodes with an in-theatre and virtual play-test audience. We’re not announcing this to the general public, just our trusted friends and some industry folk. You can book one of the live shows below (free) or sign up on our website for YouTube or VR interactions. Please only take live tickets if you are coming, as places are limited.
Mythic Improv Journey Class
From February, online throughout 2022:
There are just two tickets left for the course starting on 2nd February.
This is an improv get-together using longform improv to celebrate and mark the solar festivals of the year. It’s part lecture - where you learn about the festivals - a bit of solo and duo enquiry and then improv fun. There are no notes, it’s not an improv class, but more of a community thing where you get to play and learn a little about myths and ritual. Grab one of the last two tickets and join us for eight sessions throughout 2022.
Dead British Radio Show
I had the most fun recording three episodes of Dead British for Union JACK Radio. It’s an improvised radio show and podcast which comes out every Thursday night, or you can listen back wherever you get your podcasts.
Thanks for reading. Remember, you don’t need to earn a rest.
