Katy Schutte: Improv and Other News for July

News from Katy Schutte

Hi ,

Welcome if you’re new here! I’m a theatre-maker, writer and improviser and you probably took a class with me, or saw my work; that’s how come you’re here.

This month I’m spending a lot of my time applying for funding and project stuff and writing, so it’s not as event-filled as the rest of my year. Still, it’s nice to keep in touch, isn’t it?

I’m excited to share that Sideliners is now embarking on the film festival circuit and we’ve already been selected for Apulia Web Fest in September. Here’s hoping there will be even more rosettes and love for the pilot to come!

The Improviser’s Way

12 weeks (online) from 15th September

I wrote an improv book about 5 years ago that was first made as a crowd-funding project, then got published and put in all the bookshops and theatres by Nick Hern Books. It’s a 12 week course in longform improv to supplement your current practice no matter what level you’re at. It’s both a book club and an improv class.

5-Day Advanced Improv Intensive

22nd - 26th August, Bristol

This is SOLD OUT, but if you missed it, pop yourself down on the waiting list just in case. Chris and I will be doing a Project2 show that week too if you’re in town.

I had a lovely interview with Sanj Surati last week if you fancy a listen.

I’m excited to be teaching and performing at various festivals later in the year in Edinburgh, Nottingham, Birmingham, Zürich and as a guest teacher at the Maydays Retreat. I’ll keep you posted as they come around.

Have a lovely day.
