Hello again. My emails aren’t normally this frequent, but since my last one of these 11 days ago, two courses have changed dates and content and some things have sold out, so I’m doing a general update…

The Sticks

I’m just come back from a writing retreat

As soon as I got there I had a brief cry. It seemed like such an elaborate gift to give myself, despite the human necessity for both rest and creative time.

It went really well and I met some incredible new writer friends. I had a run through the woods the other day and a fox was jogging along in front of me.

Advanced* Longform Experiment

14th - 17th March, London

There are four places left.

Once a year I love to teach an intensive class over four days to work on all the stuff that I’ve been mulling over, but that doesn’t have a place in the other classes or shows I’m involved in. We have done different explorations over the years. The focus this time will be on word, speech and language choices, bold staging and ensemble work.

The experience is a bit like a rehearsal room where I’m directing a company. You’ll get notes, we’ll work as a team and we’ll go down any rabbit holes we are drawn to. There’s space for you to bring what you’re working towards too. Limited to 12 participants.
