June 16
Improv, shows and classes with Katy Schutte
Katy Schutte's improv gubbins, June 2016.
Home from Chicago!
May was amazing! I can't imagine how June can compete... The Maydays spent a week in Chicago and I was lucky enough to play in the original Armando Diaz Experience, in Whirled News Tonight, the Improvised Star Trek podcast, Messing with a Friend and a couple of other shows at the Bughouse and the Annoyance. Not only that, but Project2 had great shows - including one sell out - at Brighton Festival. Schuskin was a total success and Knightmare Live was suitably terrifying.Right, June; what you got?
Brighton Festival Shows:
Pitch that Show
The Maydays present a totally improvised improv show where the style and format is also made up on the spot. We've just been to Chicago, guys, so it's going to brilliant. It's our last show of the Brighton Fringe and it's on tonight!GET TICKETS
Knightmare Live!
I've been a total fangirl of this show for the last three years. If you remember Knightmare, you'll be there because you know how excellent it will be, if you haven't, and you like dungeon crawling and comedy, you should totally come. We're performing in a giant hat. There are two shows at Brighton Fringe tomorrow (4pm & 8pm). GET TICKETS
London Shows:
Geekeasy & Project2
Project2 will be back at the Edric Theatre courtesy of the Nursery with another improvised science fiction treat on 10th June. We'll also be hosting Geekeasy, our Cops! themed comedy night for nerds on 17th June at the Miller, with Lemon Jelly's Fred Deakin, improv favourites the RH Experience, award-winning musical comedians Jollyboat and more!
An Evening of Unnecessary Detail
Project2 will be performing a 10 minute version of our new show Dead Smart at the Backyard Comedy Club on Tuesday 28th June. It's the nerdiest thing we've ever done (and we've done a Ghostbusters musical). Come celebrate Tau Day with Felicity Ward, Gemma Arrowsmith, Thom Tuck, Bec Hill and astrophysicist Andrew Pontzen.
Liverpool Improvathon:
When in Rome
The Liverpool Improvathon is an annual marathon of improv that lasts 33.5 hours and tells one continuous story. I have played in it once before and it was a real highlight in all the years I've been making shit up. This year, I'm going to try and play through the whole thing, partnering with my Project2 buddy Chris Mead.Pop in and see us go mad.
