Improv, writing and saving the world
On tour!
HELLO
I’m Katy Schutte. I probably met you in a workshop or at a show somewhere. I’m a writer, improviser, performer and teaching artist with a special interest in folklore, neo-paganism and nature.
Tour of rural Ireland and Northern Ireland
ON TOUR
Right now, I’m on tour around Ireland for the first leg of our climate crisis hopepunk improv and science show We Built this City on Rock and Coal. We’re enjoying walks and sea swims as well as engaging people in meaningful conversations, providing entertainment and sustainability workshops and encouraging positive action.
In order to make the tour as accessible as possible, all the shows, workshops and citizen science walks are free to attend. You can find out more and reserve a ticket here.

NEWS AND STUFF
The above is a live pic from my new Hoopla show Man Band. I’m thrilled with how the performances have been going and we will be doing more. It’s the (improvised) story of a boy band who were big in the 90s and are getting together for one last show decades after the height of their fame. Songs included.
I run lots of improv and writing classes for adults, but recently led a session with the Omnibus Theatre Young Company. Despite my anxiety about working with children and teens, it was super fun for all of us! I also taught a group of local over-60s for Immediate Theatre, which was a blast.
ARCTIC HORROR
My cosmic horror play The Ice at the End of the World held castings this week. I’m currently working with the Dramaturg and Director to finalise the script for the run in the autumn. I can’t believe it’s really happening and coming up so fast. We have a three-week London run at Omnibus Theatre starting in September.
BITS AND BOBS
I don’t have links for these yet, but I’m thrilled to be teaching Silence and Subtext in Rochester, improvising Sondheim with Lloydie James Lloyd in Nottingham and having a writing residency with the famous esoteric and occult bookshop Treadwell’s in Bloomsbury.

Well done, everyone.
